Question do I stop using mederma after I'm please with results or do keep using it? Do mederma treat acne or just the scars left behind?

I had a keloid removed from my chest, the doctor recommended using mederma after the stitches were removed. I used the Mederma for about a week as instructed and the scar is swollen and painful (looks worse than it did before I started using the Mederma). I may just be allergic to the gel- but I am definitely discontinuing use!

i had a bike accident and ended up with alot of wounds and cuts on my hands, knees and face and i started using mederma, its been almost two months and i have not noticed any improvements, except it made my scar darker. i am not satisfied with this product and i would never recommend it to anyone.

I'm 22 and I just got over the chicken pox. I used to always get compliments on my skin, and now my face looks like a wreck. I have big deep scars all over my forehead, cheeks and nose. I just started using Mederma about 3 days ago, but its obviously too early to see any results yet. I really hope this product helps.

And by "awhile" I mean around an average of 2 months (because I started using the SPF cream sporadically, then often, then got the scar gel and used that with the cream daily)... so I should probably not complain. I'm patient, but I can be impatient when I don't see immediate results. But, I'm willing to wait this time. I'll try to remember to get back to everyone!

I've been using it for awhile now, scar gel when I'm inside and the cream for when I'm outside, and pretty regularly applied 3 times a day. I haven't seen much improvement at all on old acne scars.
Maybe I'm being impatient because it says 3-6 months for old scars, and I'm willing to go that long and futher even if it means buying several tubes, but what I've noticed from these comments is that a lot of these people used the treatment right after getting a scar. It could be the gel that did the trick OR that could have tricked them by just the natural healing their body would have done anyways. I'm sure the gel could have helped by keeping in soothed, but other than that I'm a little weary on the effects I should expect. I can come back in like a year I guess and tell you what the results are... My acne has naturally gotten under control (I get a small few every now and then but who doesn't... other than the lucky ones.) and I plan on getting ride of these scars, and Mederma seems to be the only thing that I can use without upsetting my skin. That's a bonus I must say out Mederma! I also have been using a pomegranate night treatment mouisturizer (which has worked great for me for so long) over the acne gel at night and my skin looks absolutely amazing in the mornings. Just thought I'd mention that because I actually noticed that when I stopped using harsh acne treatments on my skin that that was when my skin cleared up. A suggestion: try something natural in your skin regimine.

Hi! i'm 14 and have several stretch marks on my thighs and butt, i have some old stretch marks, and new ones. i'm considering using Mederma, but i'm unsure whether this product will work for me. What do you guys think?

I've used mederma on a fresh scar caused by very hot cooking oil on my wrist- applied 2x a day for a couple of weeks- it's barely visible- better than before. I'm now using it on an old scar on my right arm- be patient. It's tedious to be applying 3-4x a day, so just do morning and night if you forget.
